Shinhwa’s Dongwan shared honest thoughts about the current idol industry.

On August 28, Shinhwa held the showcase for their 20th-anniversary album ’Heart’. While talking about Shinhwa’s long-running career, Dongwan mentioned hoobae idols and asked, “Is the idol world really happy?”

He continued, “I take the time to reflect when I see hoobaes that have committed suicide, and female idols who have become oversexualized. It’s my personal thoughts, but it breaks my heart how the idol industry has become so much like Japan. Us, the sunbae of the industry, need to reflect and fix it.”
